Apr 21, 2011 - At the beginning of the 2011 season, when the White Sox led in their first thirteen games, it would seem unthinkable that they would be facing an eight straight game losing streak just a week later. RIFT Platinum Yet that's where the club finds itself as they go into the last game of a four game set with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Sox will send Gavin Floyd to the mound this evening to play stopper, hoping to turn their skid around and get back to where they were when the season started. Floyd is currently 1-1 with a 4.29 ERA. He faced the Rays in Chicago on April 10th, rift gold where he threw eight scorless innings and struck out eight. Since the White Sox have scored just thirteen runs in their last seven games, he'll have to be nearly as dominant on Thursday evening to succeed.

Taking the mound for the Rays will be Jeff Niemann. Niemann is 0-2 on the year, still looking for his first win, with a 6.28 ERA. He's been on an upward trajectory, however. In his most recent start, RIFT Platinum on April 16th against Minnesota, he recorded his first quality start of the season, giving up only three runs over seven innings.

First pitch for this evening's game will be at 5:40 P.M., CDT, Rift Gold and the game will be televised on CSN
